Consultation has concluded
Council is proposing to remove the prohibition on riding bicycles, foot scooters and electric scooters on footpaths in Cleveland Centre, Capalaba Centre and at Wellington Point.
Allowing small wheeled devices including traditional and electric bikes and scooters on footpaths in these locations, will make the rules consistent across the city and better support alternative transport options on Redlands Coast.
Removing the prohibition will involve making changes to Subordinate Local Law No.4 (Local Government Controlled Areas, Facilities and Roads) 2015.
