Consultation has concluded

Bikes now allowed on all Redlands Coast footpaths

To support healthy, convenient and sustainable travel options, and to make the rules consistent across the city, Council has removed the prohibition on riding a bicycle, scooter or other similar device on the following footpaths:

  • on both sides of roads in Cleveland centre bounded by and including Wynyard, Shore, Waterloo and Queen Streets;
  • the footpath, commonly known as Capalaba Place, between Noeleen Street and Capalaba Central Shopping Centre;
  • on both sides of Main Road, Wellington Point, from the intersection with Apsley Street to the intersection with Douro Road.

Removing the prohibition on riding a bicycle, wheeled recreational device or wheeled toy – as defined in the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995) in these locations was achieved by amended Subordinate Law No. 4.
