September 2023 update

Works have now commenced on the Charlie Buckler Memorial Sporting Fields upgrade.

  • The tennis courts and associated play space will remain operational throughout works.
  • The pathway that runs from Terrier Court along the rear of the site and connects with the bridge that links to Carolyn Place will remain open for use by pedestrians and cyclists.
  • The dog off leash area will be closed throughout works. Alternative dog off leash areas can be found at Main Street Park in Redland Bay, Victoria Point Bushland Refuge, Beachwood Street Park in Redland Bay, Orchard Beach Foreshore, and the lovely Mount Cotton Community Park. These and others can be found on Council’s ‘Find a dog off-leash area’ webpage at https://www.redland.qld.gov.au/info/20135/dog_off-leash_areas_and_prohibited_places/123/find_a_dog_park_or_off-leash_area
  • The basketball court and BMX track are being removed and not replaced. BMX tracks can be found at Point Talburpin Park in Redland Bay and at Cascade Park in Victoria Point, and basketball courts are located nearby at the Bob and Delphine Douglas Reserve in Victoria Point, Cameron Court Park in Victoria Point and at Beachwood Street Park in Redland Bay.
  • The existing car park will be closed throughout works, with the exception of a number of disabled car parking spaces.
  • While the car park is closed, some space for car parking will be made available on the fields.

Council is committed to keeping the community informed as the project progresses.
