January 2018 update

Council officers have accepted the final draft of an Integrated Weed Management Plan (IWMP) for Coochiemudlo Island from the plan consultants.

The Coochiemudlo Weed Management Plan has been developed in collaboration with residents, the Quandamooka Yoolooburrabee Corporation (QYAC), community groups, and concerned citizens over the past year and was designed to provide a template for the establishment of future weed management activities on the island.

Council appreciates the contributions of the consultants, community and all those who have participated in engagement activity, community surveys, and discussion towards the drafting of the final document.

The Coochiemudlo Weed Management Plan will be used as an important background information document for the planned update of the city wide Pest Management Plan (Biosecurity Plan) expected to be completed and adopted by Council by the end of 2018.
