Redland City Council is seeking expressions of interest from Pickleball Clubs to licence 12 pickleball courts at the EGW Wood Sports field at 347-371 Birkdale Road, Wellington Point. The primary licence holder will remain the Allstars Netball Club and an opportunity exists for a Pickleball Club to be the secondary licence holder.
Council recognises the growing popularity of pickleball and has recently line marked 20 courts for this sport at EGW Wood Sports field, 8 will be bookable by the community and 12 will be managed by a Pickleball Club.
Played on a court similar in size to badminton, pickleball combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis, and is suitable for all ages and skill levels. It’s particularly popular among seniors who find the low-impact activity an ideal way to stay active.
Council is keen to hear proposals from interested Pickleball Clubs who are inclusive and have progression of pickleball in the Redlands as a core value.
The Expression of Interest process allows for groups to submit their ideas and business cases to Council for consideration.
If you are interested in submitting a proposal, please download the EOI brief for further details on lodging an electronic submission.
Submissions close at midday on Tuesday, 24 March 2026.
