Redland City Council’s (Council) local laws undergo a continual review process to provide the best outcomes for the community and Council.

Previous amendments to Subordinate Local Law No. 1.8 (Operation of Accommodation Parks) 2015 were adopted by Council on 5 August 2020(A report on the previous 2020 consultation is available in the documents folder).

 Council has again reviewed Subordinate Local Law No. 1.8 (Operation of Accommodation Parks) 2015 and identified recommended changes to;

  • remove reference to standards that have been revoked (e.g., Australian Standard regarding Fire Safety Audits) 
  • update the documents required to be provided with an approval
  • include new definitions for self-contained recreation vehicles and other administrative changes.

Council has agreed to a 21-day consultation on these current proposed amendments to Subordinate Local Law No. 1.8 (Operation of Accommodation Parks) 2015

 The consultation will begin on 16 January 2023 and conclude on 6 February 2023.

    Between 16 January and 6 February 2023, Council undertook public consultation on several proposed amendments to Subordinate Local Law No 1.2 (Commercial Use of Local Government Controlled Areas and Roads) 2015.

    Council did not receive any submissions on the amendments during the engagement period.

    At the General Meeting on Wednesday 19 April 2023, Council resolved to make the proposed amendments to Subordinate Local Law No. 1.8 (Operation of Accommodation Parks) 2015.

    The following amendments have been made to Subordinate Local Law No. 1.8 (Operation of Accommodation Parks) 2015:

    • remove reference to standards that have been revoked (e.g., Australian Standard regarding Fire Safety Audits)
    • update the documents required to be provided with an approval
    • include new definitions for self-contained recreation vehicles and other administrative changes.

    The General Meeting of Redland City Council on 14 December 2022 agreed to a 21-day consultation on proposed amendments to Subordinate Local Local Law No. 1.8 (Operation of Accommodation Parks) 2015, beginning on 16 January 2023.

    Changes recommended will remove reference to standards that have been revoked (e.g., Australian Standard regarding Fire Safety Audits), update the documents required to be provided with approval, the inclusion of new definitions for self-contained recreation vehicles and other administrative changes.
