June Update
Local laws affect us all.
For example, it is our local laws that define how many pets we can have, and how we use our parks and reserves.
In the past 12 months, Council has made amendments to many of its local laws and subordinate local laws.
These changes were made for a variety of reasons. In some cases they were administrative changes. In other cases they were significant changes driven by changing community values, or expectations.
Some of the more significant local law amendments made recently include changes relating to pets, advertising signage, and Council’s operation of events, public pools and cemeteries.
Upcoming (or proposed) local law amendments include revisions related to the installation of advertising, vegetation protection, waste management and more.
Some of these local law amendments may be of interest to you.
