10 August Update

Straddie locals have hopped on-board to tell us what topics and questions they would like Council, and the State to address at the upcoming North Stradbroke Island Township Meeting.

You have told us that you would like Redland City Council representatives to address:

• Plans for car parking at Dunwich, One Mile and on the mainland at Toondah (Council, QYAC, State Government)

• Footpaths, kerb and channelling works at Mitchell Crescent (Council)

• The Dunwich / Amity Point / Point Lookout bike trail proposal (Council, State Government)

• Sewerage upgrades at Point Lookout (Council)

• Poisoning of foxes (Council, State Government)

You have also told us that you want the following topics addressed, which are the responsibility of the State Government and/or QYAC, some with assistance from Council:

• Dunwich and Amity Point public transport (State Government)

• Native Title Act (State Government, QYAC)

• Support for non-Indigenous businesses (State Government)

• Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron proposal (State Government, QYAC)

• Pond at Cylinder Beach (State Government, Council)

• Access and use of Brown Lake (QYAC)

• Use of fire trails around Dunwich by trail bikes riders (State Government)

• Proposed Whale Interpretation Centre (State, QYAC, Council)

• Encouraging artisan, cottage and small business on the island (State Government, Council)

• Overfishing (State Government)

We have forwarded these questions on to the relevant parties.
