Submissions have now closed and officers are evaluating responses with a view to reporting back to Council by the end of the year.

Eco-friendly tourism opportunity

Council is making the former Department of Agriculture and Fisheries land at MacArthur Street Alexandra Hills available for eco-friendly tourism opportunities and community facilities.

Expressions of Interest (EOI) are sought for the development and operation of a high quality tourist park that preserves the environmental, cultural and historical values of the site while integrating an appropriate mix of accommodation types, such as recreational vehicle (RV), camping and glamping.

Parties with experience in developing and operating tourist parks (or similar) are invited to submit proposals, including but not limited to, a preliminary business case, concept plan and demonstration of success in the delivery, management and operation of a similar park. Council is ideally seeking an operator willing to invest in infrastructure that will also benefit the broader community – such as water play equipment and connections to nearby recreational trails and public facilities.

If you are interested in submitting a proposal and would like a copy of the project brief, please contact Alistair Michell from Redland City Council, on 07 3843 8042 or alistair.michell@redland.qld.gov.au

Please note: while a preferred development partner will not be directly nominated through this EOI process, it is likely to result in a shortlist of applicants invited to tender for the project.

The eventual site development would be subject to the usual development application process at the cost and responsibility of the successful tenderer.

Written Expressions of Interest must be received by 4pm, Friday 25 September 2020.
