Why does Council need a corporate plan?

All local governments in Queensland are legally required to produce a five-year corporate plan. The plan provides Council with clear strategic direction when making decisions about budgets and resources.

    What does the plan do?

The plan outlines Council vision, mission, goals and priorities for the next five years, helping Council decide on annual operation, budgets, resource allocation and others.

Why doesn’t the draft Our Future Redlands City: Corporate Plan 2026–31 include all of Council’s services and activities?

The Corporate Plan sets the strategic direction for the next five years and identifies the priority areas that Council and the community will focus on to deliver long-term outcomes for the city. It doesn’t list every Council service or day-to-day activity, as these are considered business as usual functions that will continue to operate as needed to support the community.

Why is community engagement important to the corporate planning process?

Community engagement ensures that the corporate plan reflects the needs and aspirations of our community.

How will the community help shape the Plan?

Community feedback helped to shape the first draft. Any feedback received during the draft plan consultation period will be considered prior to adoption.

What will happen to my feedback?

All feedback will be carefully reviewed and considered as part of the development of the Corporate Plan. All community feedback on the Corporate Plan will be formally captured and analysed to provide an unbiased input into the process.

How will the corporate plan benefit me and my community?

The corporate plan aims to improve services, infrastructure, and overall community well-being. By aligning our actions with community needs, we aim to create a more vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive community.
