What are the benefits to the community of regulated parking?

Regulating parking at Junner Street will increase the availability of parking for regular users by discouraging long-term storage of cars there.

Will we have to pay for parking?

    No.

    Is it just revenue raising?

No. The community requested that parking be regulated, primarily to increase availability of parking for regular users by discouraging long-term storage of cars there.

While parking fines may be issued to owners of non-compliant vehicles by Council Local Laws officers, there are also significant costs to Council associated with regulation, including and not limited to officer time and signage.

Police will also be able to issue fines.

    Will parking limits be policed?

Yes. Council Local Laws officers will conduct routine checks for compliance and, in instances of non-compliance, issue fines. Police will also be able to issue fines.

Will there be parking for Emergency Services?

No car parking spaces will be allocated to emergency services, but emergency services vehicles will not be issued infringement notices.
