Principal Petitioner: Callen Sorensen-Karklis
Date of Receipt: 4 February 2026
Number of Signatures: 27
Petition Request:
Introduce EFTPOS payment options for printing and photocopy stations at Redland City Council Library facilities for local residents, in line with Brisbane City Council.
Petition Response (2 March 2026):
Thank you for your petition requesting card payment options for printing and photocopying services across Redland City Council Libraries. The petition was tabled by Councillor Hewlett at the General Meeting on 18 February 2026. The matter was determined to be organisational in nature and has been referred to the CEO for consideration.
Council is currently reviewing various payment options, including EFTPOS for printing and photocopying, to bring our services into alignment with other Queensland and Australian public library services. We have examined systems used by surrounding regions such as City of Gold Coast Libraries, Brisbane, Logan, Moreton Bay Libraries and Sunshine Coast Libraries. Should any changes to current processes be implemented, this will be communicated through the organisation to the community.
Thank you again for your ongoing contribution to our community. Council’s response to you regarding the outcome will also be published on the Council website so that other signatories are able to view it.
