Increase Road Safety in the Freshwater Rd Area

Petition Request:

The Freshwater Street residential area has 2 entrances. With 350+ properties and the common demographic being families and working people, those 2 entrances are seeing a lot of traffic. With that traffic and the demographic in mind comes the risk of property damage, injury or death. Either by car accident, car and pedestrian or car and Child. -Children play on the streets, particularly on Edina Street near the park. -Edina Street has a high volume of parked cars of residents. -Motorists tend to take corners of Edina, Rachow and Beveridge like a racetrack.  Motorists tend to drive without caution through Waterline Blvd near Thornlands community playground, Freshwater Rd the main artery and Beveridge Rd near Faith Lutheran College. Proposal; "High pedestrian area" "Children crossing" or "Playground" sign's Speed limit signs Mass notice/reminder to the area of the speed limits and road safety in the residential area. I understand that people are trying to get to where they need to go. But when, if in their rush or absent mindedness through these areas, motorists were to cause or be part of an incident, they wouldn't be going anywhere, anytime soon. I'm speaking up now before an incident happens.
