This consultation has concluded.

Redland City Council’s Economic Development Advisory Board has confirmed the importance of internet services and connectivity on business and economic development in the Redlands.

This follows University of Queensland business surveys that identified poor internet service as a major barrier for Redland businesses. The number of businesses identifying this as an issue has increased since the first survey in 2013.

As one of its first actions, the Board has called for a review of internet services and connectivity in the Redland. This review will help Council to identify areas requiring investment in internet infrastructure and support the business case to seek upgraded services from industry providers. Council is currently exploring options that can increase the capacity of local internet infrastructure. There is no guarantee that the National Broadband Network will address the identified issues, hence the need to understand this issue better.

To help understand this major barrier and support the business case for improved services we want to know more about your experience.

The survey below should take less than 10 minutes and will help Council identify:

  • Specific locations with poor internet connectivity
  • What connection speeds business are currently experiencing
  • What level of internet capacity Redlands business’s require
  • Issues with quality of service etc
