When asked about 3 existing services they'd be most willing to see reduced: 43% named community events; 43% named arts programs and/or gallery services; 29% named community grant programs followed by 27% Christmas events.

16.3% would not be willing to see a reduction in any current service, even if it meant additional costs. Maintenance of public amenities, mowing of parks and green spaces and waste collection were the 3 services were least likely to see reductions on.
From 11 November to 7 December 2025, we asked you what was most important for you and your family looking at Council's budget. This project was viewed 1.5k times, and 350 surveys were received.
In general, respondents would like spending on core services to remain the same. Community and cultural development was the only topic where the majority of respondents said they would either spend less or pospone spending.
Those under 35 years made up less than 10% of total respondents. 7 in 10 younger respondents were aware of Council spending
Island respondents made up 16% of feedback received. They mostly disagree Council spends money on things that matter to them. They were also more likely to request increased spending to services.
