    Long term visitor

I'm from Brisbane but have been visiting for 40 years - I now bring the grandkids. Suggestions:

    - A track to the sand blow would protect the environment instead of everyone making new ones but keep it natural. Use packed gravel and stairs similar to Cylinder Beach Headland track.

    - A track directly to the rock pools.

    - Walking trail maps should be available.

    - Be careful not to install too many signs, keep low key

    - Join all the walks from the Gorge to Adder Rock.

    Regular visitors

We are regular visitors from Brisbane who have a holiday house on the island and visit several times per year.

Platforms would be a great way to get people off the track to keep the flow pedestrians going in busy periods.

It's important to keep dog friendly, Deadmans’ and Home Beach are dog friendly and need to remain so.

We would like to see Deadman’s linked from Frenchmans along the ridge to enjoy the view but keep the track natural. Signage would be good to point out interesting facts of environment.

I like the gorge walk as it allows you to enjoy the view instead of concentrating on your feet.Suggestions for improvement:

    - Maps of the walks should be on the ferries.

    - I didn’t see the other stairs to Cylinder Beach.

    - Public safety is the most important thing to take into consideration.

    - Tightly packed gravel is all you need on most of the walks.

    - The goal is to enjoy nature so keep it natural but safe.

    - The track should be for walking only and should not be cycle friendly. This will encourage kids that are larking... Continue reading

At your September 21, 2015 community consultation I suggested a wheel chair and aged person friendly trail following the contour below street level from Headland to Headland with several water points and a toilet at the Cylinder Head.

Being below street level and out of sight of the Mooloomba Road, Snapper Street, Timbin Road and Cutter Street residents as much as possible, disturbance to the life of the residents of these street is minimised.

A rider please, rubbish bins everywhere along the trail, accessible to the walkers which means that they may not be readily accessible ... Continue reading

    A Plea

Surely the most obvious and inexpensive improvement that could be made would be to improve the the views of the Point Lookout Foreshore by the selective removal and pruning of trees and other vegetation. The special significance of this area justified its listing in the Queensland Heritage Register. Unfortunately there has been a gradual loss of views and amenity due to the planting and uncontrolled growth of trees and other vegetation.much of it weeds and noxious plants.Structures may have a role but they are expensive and detract from the natural beauty of the area.

Trees are an essential element of the... Continue reading

I spent the day in the area as a visitor and walked the area to Norm's Seat Lookout. The view is spectacular and the boardwalk was very accessible for us. I enjoy the formal elements of this track but think that some of the tracks would be better left more natural.

I would love to return to the area with friends and family to do more of the walks.
